For all who had doubts about SCRA racing at Barona as I admit I did, well they did race and put on a heck of a show doing it. Congradulations to Barona and all its staff. Hope it lasts for many years. See you all in two weeks. Dwarfcar 23.

Hey everyone, I was just wanting to let it be known to those of you that have had an interest in my American Bulldog "Chaos" that I will be bringing a 8month old female pup on Saturday. Though she is not one of his pups, she was a first choice from a great breeder. I will be asking $1500 for her or $1000 and retain first breeding to her using "Chaos" and me taking first pick of that litter. They turn 7-14 pups out, you do the math, small investment for a great return on your money. Cheap ones go for $1000 and great ones such as "Chaos" and my new one go for between $1500 and $2000. Any questions, call me at (619)252-7686

Things have been pretty crazy in my world for the past couple of months and I have been pretty much been laying low! I am just trying to get the season going. We ran a practice Saturday. I am going to do a open practice this Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 10:00. I would rather do practices on our off weekends than Thursday nights because it is easier on me. Any input will help with making something that will work for the 2004 season.

I just wanted to say how happy I am to see that Barona is finally getting some newspaper coverage to help promote the race track. I am a avid sprint car fan. I can not wait for the SCRA to start running at my local track so that I don't have to drive almost 2 hours to that other track. Thank you Barona for bringing the SCRA back too San Diego.

Mini Dwarf Parents, with our season just a month away please don't forget about our motor rule changes. There will be NO exceptions to sealed motors this year. If you would like to have your child race you will be required to run the sealed spec motor. You can call myself for a spec motor or buy one a the race track, Todd will have a couple of engines for purchase. They are $300.00. Lets have a great race season for the kids, because it is about the kids. Thank Tedd Barnes 760-738-8718

Hey Patti, I'm sure the SCRA people will be just as pleased as the CLS people are to call the Barona track home. Good times and great people! Seems how being treated as a racing family rather than a money machine makes it all that much pleasurable for the fans and racers alike. But hey, you just keep on making your stupid remarks and we'll just keep shutting you up!

on the website for the past two days was because I had no idea what was going on. I finally made it too the track yesterday and got to see what the fire had done! I am happy to report that we did not lose any buildings or bleachers or anything important. I had to make a decision as far as November 1st goes and there is now way that we can pull it off this weekend! I spoke to Mike Goodwine the promoter for the drag strip and they do not have anything going on for Saturday November 8th. So the plan is to move the race for November 8th! I am sorry that it took me so long to get this on the website but there were other things going on that prevented me getting to the computer. I will see you on the 8th

A personal note on Barona Speedway surviving the fire: I know that Barona Speedway is not a home that a family lives in, or a personal cherished item that can't be replaced. Although to me Barona Speedway has been where my family, friends and neighbors have gathered for years to enjoy each other's company. We have been able to race, bbq, camp, make new friends and just celebrate the little events of each other's lives. Saturday - November 8, 2003 will be the last race of the season at Barona Speedway. I will be able to mourn with those that have lost and sigh and reflect with those that haven't. But most of all I will be able to hug and know that we will be together again next season. Carla

The reason why I have not posted anything on the website for the past two days was because I had no idea what was going on. I will see you on the 8th.

I enjoyed racing at Barona this year, was a change to go back to a short track from a 1/2 or 3/8. Wont comment on any changes that need to be made but would like to publicly thank Bobby Bonito for letting me store my car down at his place in Lakeside. If my car doesnt get sold I can guarantee my fellow street stocks wont get off as easy next year! God Bless Yall, marc 2t ford

I am the Teck for the street stocks. I have reviewed the tape of this wreck and almost all the other wreck of this season witch has been very few this years. Last weekends wreck yes very dramatic yet things happened in that wreck that were just freak things Yes the k9 car was at fault for the spin but was not at fault for the 225 axel breaking and sending him into dale. The same accident happened to me the race previous and I spun into the infield the same punishment was given to k9 as the 19 car the week before he was put to the back nothing else can be done if you would like to review the tape get in touch with me and I will go further into it. And no I was not in the race and no favoritism was shown to k9 or any other driver this year. in the futur to make your statment to be taken with more than a grain of salt but your name and email so people may respond and have a grown up conversation.

I would like to know if anything is going to be done about the rough driving of the K-9 street stock. Week after week the man takes people out for know reason. Saturday night was the worst thing I have ever seen. You need to do something before he kills someone.

one of, if not the best race saturday night, happened on the mini-dwarf track. wow! we had great racing, great passing, and driver courtesy was displayed by all racers. wow again! faster cars made room for the newer racers, and the newer drivers were aware of the more experienced racers passing them to the outside. the final lap was exciting, and it goes to show you that the race is not over till the checkered flag falls. there were 4 cars that could have taken the win on the last lap. congratulations to 22 darren brown, who kept a cool head when lapped traffic played a role in the finish. an honorable mention goes out to #14 blake, 00 a.j., 01 mikey, 10 brianna, 5 austin, 24 jacob, and 07 taylor. great race. due to the track size, 8-10 cars makes for an exciting race, any more and you a have a parking lot. thanks to the volunteers around the track, the scorers, and the fans who follow this fast paced division. looking forward to the next race.

If you think your PC may be infected with a virus, go to this address and download a small application called 'Stinger' from McAfee, deisgned to remove 30 specific viruses recently released. The web address is http://vil.nai.com/vil/averttools.asp#stinger The sobig.f virus has the ability to spoof email addresses, making it appear that a certain address is sending you an infected file, when it is not the address it was actually sent from. The result is the spoofed address receives a reply stating that you sent someone a virus, which is generally not the case, but it is a good idea to run a virus scan on your PC to be sure.

IMAGINE THE PRESSURE PUT ON A KID WHO'S PLAYING TEE-BALL ON A TEAM, DAD BUYS HIM A $50 BASEBALL MIT, A BAT, BATTING GLOVES, AND COOL CLEATS TO MAKE HIM RUN FASTER. BUT, REMEMBER HE OR SHE IS STILL JUST A KID. THE PRESSURE TO PLEASE MOM AND DAD IS IMMENSE, SO MUCH SO THAT KIDS DON'T ENJOY THE FUN OF JUST BEING A KID. NOW, TAKE THAT KID AND PUT HIM OR HER IN A $2000 MINI-DWARF RACE CAR AND THE PRESSURE MULTIPLYS 20 FOLD. YES, THE LEARNING CURVE IS DIFFERENT FOR A 5 YEAR OLD AND A 10 YEAR OLD, AS WELL IT SHOULD BE. PARENTS, IF YOU WANT TO FULFILL YOUR DREAM OF BECOMING A RACE CAR DRIVER, THEN GET A CAR AND GIVE IT A TRY. DON'T LIVE YOUR FANTASIES THROUGH YOUR KIDS, THEY CAN'T LIVE UP TO YOUR DREAMS. MINI-DWARF RACING SHOULD BE THE SAME AS TEE-BALL, ALL KIDS GET TO RACE, AND LEARN, AND HAVE FUN. PINE WOOD DERBY CARS ARE BUILT AND DRIVEN BY THE YOUNGSTERS, PARENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE GUIDANCE AND THEN STAND BACK AND BE PROUD OF THEIR CHILDS ACCOMPLISHMENTS. IF YOU WANT TO VIDEO TAPE THE RACES TO SHARE THE JOY WITH YOUR KIDS, THAT'S GREAT. THIS IS NOT THE NFL AND THERE ARE NO REVIEWS ALLOWED. THE OFFICIALS (USUALLY GIVE THEIR FREE TIME BECAUSE THEY LOVE TO SEE KIDS HAVING FUN) SHOULD NOT BE BERATED OVER A CALL, ESPECIALLY A JUDGEMENT CALL, WHICH IN BASEBALL IS NOT ARGUEABLE. DO YOU EVER WONDER WHY IT'S SO HARD TO FIND VOLUNTEERS? AND WHY DO WE HAVE A $250 CLAIM ON A $95 BRIGGS AND STRATON ENGINE, THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AN UNLIMITED ENGINE SIZE DIVISION, PUT 10 KIDS IN CLOSE TO IDENTICAL POWERED CARS AND THAT WILL BE A FUN RACE TO WATCH. THE MINI-TRACK IS SMALL AND THERE WILL BE A FEW BUMPING INCIDENTS, BUT TEACH THE DRIVERS TO PASS CLEAN OR WAIT FOR A BETTER OPPORTUNITY, TEACHING DRIVERS TO MOVE ANOTHER DRIVER OUT OF THE WAY IS NOT APPROPRIATE AND SHOULD NOT BE TOLEREATED. MAYBE WE NEED A MUCH LARGER TRACK TO ALLOW PASSING, BUT UNTIL THEN LET'S TEACH OUR DRIVERS HOW TO DRIVE USING THE GAS AND AN BRAKE, AND THE BASICS OF PASSING. IN CLOSING, IF WE WANT TO BLACK FLAG EVERYONE FOR TOUCHING ANOTHER CAR, THAT JUST ISN'T FUN. LET'S DECIDE WHAT WILL BE FUN FOR OUR KIDS.

Everyone likes a little attention, but not this kind. I don't feel our team needs to defend or explain itself in any way. It does bother me to have someone post a lot of negativity toward our dwarf cars as a whole, and to our local track. I think we've had a good year of racing, with good car counts and everyone getting along. Todd and track personel continue to do a great job of running a good show and getting the races over early. Sorry you feel the way you do, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you should consider how much you tarnish the dwarf cars with your unfound accusations and the kind of image you reflect on yourself. As far as stepping up, I thought dwarf cars were at the top. I would also like to add,DRAKE RACEWAY does sound pretty good.(ha,ha) J.R.

F.O.T., I just wanted to say what a diffrence Todd S. has been, to be around! I think that your doing a great job, letting the Drakes prep the track and letting KC, dictating the schedule. So what the hell do you do, Todd? Just kidding, the pocket-book is liking Barona Speedway alot better this year, because tire wear is at a minimum. The positive vibe is there from the CLS gang, so keep up the hard work! Later, #44 Brent Sexton

Well the 3rd race of the season has passed and everything is going pretty good as far as I am concerned! I would just like to thank the Drakes for another great track to race on! Good call on not grading at intermission. Brent I told you that it would work. Also I would like to say thanks too the lightning sprints for a good night of racing. I just have one favor to ask take it easy on my billboards! Also to the dwarf cars 21 cars even with a conflicting race that is pretty sweet keep it up guys. I think as the season goes on we will get more and more cars. Thanks again to everyone that came out to race with us and I will see you in two weeks! Have a good weekend off.

great site. just wanted to let you guys know about this >>SAT Oct 4th "CRASH NATIONALS" Enduro - Figure 8 - Destruction Derby - Rollover Contest Enduro $1000 to win Figure 8 $1000 to win Derby $1000 to win American Stocks can run enduro. But must be watsonville american stock legal and take a 2-4 inch not out of front hoop. Call Dave Lewis for questions. Some enduro cars may run the figure 8 depending on safty. I.e roll cage and other safty items, and would have to be same as watsonville american stock specs. It will be up to the tech inspector if your car is approved safe enough for the 8.

Well opening day came and went without any problems! We had 99 cars in the pits. The dwarf cars came out in force with 25 strong. I was planning on having a open practice this Thursday night from 5:00 pm til 9 or 10. It will depend on how many cars show up. It will depend from there if this is done twice a month or just once a month. The practice will cost $30 per car! I will try this out this week and see how it works out and make a regular schedule from there. See you Saturday night.

Fast Track Enterprises does not control or operate the Barona Drag Strip. The two facilities share a common gate, and work together to offer San Diego a premier racing venue at this location, but are not affiliated as a business. Barona Speedway 1/4 Mile Dirt Track and Barona Drag Strip are operated by different promotional companies. If you have an interest in the Drag Strip, please contact them by going to http://www.bararonadragstrip.com They are in the process of getting their website up to date with current information. The drag strip is not quite finished, but the operators are hoping to open the track in early June. Please do not call or contact Fast Track Enterprises about the schedule or operation details of the Barona Drag Strip. Thanks, Fast Track Enterprises.

I just wanted to let Todd and everybody at the track what a great time I had this year racing my street stock at Barona Speedway. I would like to make it to all of the races next year to have some more fun for the 2003 season. When will you have the schedule out for next year? I had heard that you are going to keep the same schedule as far as the every other week. But how many races are the street stocks going to have? Well thanks again and I can't wait till next year.

what would take to get a go kart class or two started up out at Barona. I'm from central california, and still have my race karts. I moved to san diego two years ago and droped racing due to lack of a track. I was looking into cajon "speedway" but was dissapointed to find out that they made a sprint course out of the speedway. anyways it sounds like barona could be a great karting track. if anybody has karts or would be interested in running one, please e-mail me. maybe we could get something started.

We wonder what the gate price is? Do you ever have any Pro-Stocks? And what about 360 or 400 Sprints? Once again, it looks great. Looking forward to attending soon.

I am glad to hear that you have a good time at the race track. As far as your statement about the URA cars I noticed that you also made a post a couple months ago about the modern midget cars. They too put on a good show but they did not have enough cars to put on a show. Both groups need to get some cars together in order to give the fans a good race to watch! I hope that answered your question.

I came to Barona for my first time this past Saturday night and had a really good time. I reall enjoy watching the street stocks and the modifieds. They put on a really good show. Did the fire affect the car count or is that how many big cars show up on a regular basis? Well anyway had a great time and I hope to make it back soon.

What motorcylces are you talking about? The motocross started out really good but then fizzled out after the first race! No I will never try that again! The flat track bikes were also good when we first started but then that also fizzled out. My friend Chris Apple is trying to get something going with the flat track bikes but I would not get your hopes up. In the promoting business you believe something when you see it happen!

After looking at all of the cars that we had with the last race it will be impossible to post all of the results for all of the classes for each race! With the way that we are doing it now at least we can touch on the top finishers of each class of cars for each race. My best advice will be to keep in touch with your friend and talk to him after each race.

Thank you for your nice comments! As far as the street stocks go I have left the 2 and 4 barrel carburators decision. What the drivers decided was that they wanted 2 barrels only! As far as tires that is up to the drivers of each car. What I would really like to see is that we get enough cars to make to classes of street stocks. A factory stock class and super street class! But I need cars for that. It is slowly coming along. Hopefully the word will spread and the drivers will follow. Any other questions you can e-mail me directly! Thanks again and I will see you in two weeks.

i would like to commend you all for such a smooth running show. we had a really nice time there. i appreciate the effort the track took to make the track better after it rutted up . i am a regular at imperial speedway but i am going to try to make as many shows as possible with you folks. the racing was fun, i was impressed with the flagman as well as the other competitors. especially the factory and pony stock drivers, i appreciated their driving during our race. mad dog mike has been trying to get us to come up all season. i now know why. i am rallying the troops down here in the desert. i think in a few weeks i can get 4 or 5 pro stocks to come up. i just need a definitive answer on some rules for these guys. for instance, if we run our street tires can we run our 4 barrels. or if we run hoosiers we would have to run a 2 barrel? i had street tires and a 2 barrel on the car saturday night, but i am not sure my guys here have 2 barrels available. please let me know. again great job and i am looking forward to seeing you soon. david white #86

We were speculating on how many modifieds would come because of now being a IMCA sanctioned track. I won the bet because I thought that we would have between 7 to 10 cars. I just hope that both classes of cars continue to grow. Thanks for asking! C-ya on the 18th.

I would like to thank the California Lightning Sprints, Outlaw dwarfs, 600 sprint cars and the speedway midgets for one of the best nights of racing that we have had in a long time! Hello folks, you put on a great show Sat. night, thanks, I'm looking forward to this season! Quick question for you all: How much demand is there for custom machine work out here? My Dad and my former engine builder (40+ years experience combined? Genius redneck creativity.) have full scale machine shops, and they will bargain with you. They've supplied racers in the midwest (shops are located in Indiana) with everything from torsion bars and tie rods to "creative solutions" that are "ready by race day." If you can ship it, they can fix it, and make you an identical piece...probably much cheaper than you can buy it new. They will make you a deal, and give free estimates, via email/telephone. I'm just fishing here folks, the old man has been retired for a couple years and is getting bored. Mom wants him confined to his shop for a little while to get him out of her hair. Anyone interested, contact me via email. Thanks, Damon

Thanks TODD Was reading the UT today and wondered no Dwarfs at Barona. Though that strange, or was it another racing group belly up, until I looked the schedule on your site. Figuered it was that dumb#%^@#! at the UT. Shows how much he cares about racing in San Diego county.Too bad there is no other paper to read each day.

I can not tell you how many times I have been misquoted or the wrong information has been put in the paper. When and article is written by someone else that is a chance that you have to take. I donot think that he will mention that he made a mistake it is something that will just have to be dealt with. If people go to the website and look under the schedule they will see that the cars are infact on the schedule for the 2002 season!

Great! That the dwarf cars are going to be there, not so great that the UT made a mistake. I think it might be a good idea to see if they can correct what they wrote in the paper today because you're going to have a lot of upset fans when they read that the dwarf cars are not racing up there this year. Who knows, you may have just lost some of fan count by that little accident. Thanks for responding so quickly to my message.

Boy has things changed, but the people are still the same since I have left San Diego back in 97. I am so happy to see that barona is doing so good still and that it has finially went to a bigger track. Just wish I could of been there to see it grow, along with the Dwarf's. Some of you may still remember me I used to be the Dwarf Tech Inspector/Pit Steward in 1996 for the Dwarfs. Just wish the results were a little more indepth and also included a season points standings too. Maybe someday I will be able to take a trip back out and see all of my old friends at BSP. P.S. Our 5 year old son Shane had his first race as a MiniDwarf driving Lane Sonnenberg's Blue #5 car. With just half throttle, he was the slowest car and place 13th. But he's told all the family and friends how he drove a "real race car" and he that he won. Then he shows off the trophy and ribbon. Special thanks to the Dad to bought all the trophies for the kids. Thanks to everyone for making it a fun experience. We'll be back!

COD had a great race tonight. We enjoyed our competition with the Legends and understanding that the Legend drivers don't have very much dirt time experience, they raced us very smoothly and clean. And I'm sure, speaking for the Club as a whole, we enjoyed the direct competition with them. Judging from some of the smoothe drivers they had, I'm sure the next time that we compete with them it will be a much more exciting and close race. We would like to thank all you Legend car drivers and owners for coming out and enjoying a night of racing with us. Gordon Holman COD President P.S. And Troy, thanks for getting some direct inner-club competition going, it was fun.

I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT TODD AND HIS BROTHER ARE CORRECTING THE PROBLEM WITH STREET STOCK RUNNING FOUR BARRELS AND NOT TWO BARRELS CARBS. MANAGMENT WROTE ME A LETTER AND IN FROM ME IT WILL BE DEALT WITH. BARONA IS A GREAT TRACK TO RUN AT THAT IS WHAT WE BUILD OUR CAR FOR. YOU DON'T GET IN THE POLITICAL BS THAT YOU DO AT THE OTHER TRACK IN EAST COUNTY. THANK YOU MANAGMENT FOR ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM THAT WAS A CLASS ACT TO DO IT . LARRY

STREET STOCKS, HOW CAN U MAKE SOME RUN WITH 2 BARREL CARBS AND LET OTHER'S RUN WITH 4 BARRLE CARBS? WHERE IS THE FAIRNESS IN THAT. SOME BODY NEED'S TO CHECK IT OUT BEFORE THE RACE START'S. LET'S GIVE ALL THE STREET STOCKS THE SAME RULES.

Great race at Barona but I think we could make it better if in the Street Stocks they all were on the same playing field. Lets give the fans a real show, all Street Stocks run 2 barrel carbs. or 4 barrel carbs. This deal of the track saying all Street Stocks need to run 2 barrel carbs. then in last weeks show let some run 4 barrel carbs. is unfair. Come on Management step up to the plate and do the right thing. Stand behind what you say and put all the Street Stock on a even playing field. Larry

We went from 18th place to 4th place in the dwarf car main event. Great job Barto #63. We are very proud of you. I would like to say a BIG thank you to Tom Eaton Jr.#15. You were very nice to let my dad drive your dwarf car #10x. Ralph (my dad) also did a great job. He has not raced open wheel (sprint cars) in at least 20 years. And he was able to make it to the dwarf car main event. And then end in 12th place. And then gave the car back in one piece. Great job dad. We know that you could do it. We will now be partners with dad in dwarf car #80. Once bitten by the racing bug, well you know the rest. I also wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that is always there to help us. And the ones that congratulated us after the main event. Barto's Dwarf Car Racing Voice & Fax - 760 747 7889 E-mail - dwarfcar63@juno.com web page - http://dwarfcar.8m.com/me.htm

Bob the website is looking great I look forward to adding more pictures here in the very near future. For those of you in atttendance on April 28th you were treated to some of the finest open wheel racing action that San Diego County has to offer. With two of the Track favorites dicing it out into the night, the CLS ( California Lightning Sprints) showing up 30 cars strong and proving once again what a fine well run club they are. Also not to forget the California Outlaw Dwarf Cars that just seem to keep getting better running a full field of cars that made good use of the track when the pole went a little slick the cars reached out to the outside groove that resulted in some great racing action with alot of passing and 3 wide situations taking place. All and all just another great night of racing at Barona Speedway and we look forward to the next event when we are joined by the two groups again. On behalf of myself and the rest of my family thank you for putting on such a quality show......
